These sections show you how to install and configure the application with a dedicated user calendar account to allow you to share calendar events between multiple devices.
Digital Diary uses a web Calendar to store and share events between multiple devices. A google (others are possible) account is required to host the calendar on your tablet. It is likely you will already have an account set up on your device, (if so to download the app) but just in case you need to add another account, specific for this application, please follow these instructions.
The following link will take you to the Google create account web page.

Please note: different devices and versions of Android may present the menus in a slightly different form, but the essentials are the same.
Open the Calendar app on the device and check the settings (three horizontal lines in top left of screen)
Make sure the new account is selected and all others are de-selected. (You may need to select manage accounts)
Go to the Google Play app on your device and search for "dementia diary" or "Digital Diary" and install the app.
Open the App and allow access to the calendar when the permissions dialog is displayed. If you want to use pictures, you will ned to accept the file access permissions as well.
Note: If you deny access, the app will disable access to the calendar until you turn it back on with the "use calendar" setting in the calendar settings menu.
To access the settings menu, long press (touch the screen for 2 seconds) in the top left hand corner of the screen (over the time).
Select Calendar settings.
Turn off the "Use All Calendars" settings to only see one email account. This is not necessary if there is only one calendar account on the device.
Click the master Calendar Account setting and enter the email address of the account you set up earlier.
Go back to the main screen using the back button on the screen (<) twice.
Enter events into any device using the shared calendar email account and in a short time (the time varies according to network speeds but ~10-20s) the event should show up on the configured device.
